Amongst many dinghy racing links and articles, this site has a free classified adverts section which is worth investigating.
Speed Sails are sailmakers & chandlers for all racing dinghies based in Aldridge. Note: They've moved to new premises and have joined with Purple Marine. Although they no longer have a shop, they will order things for you to try there with no obligation to purchase.
Link to Purple Marine, Purveyors of stuff since 1996 AD.
If you sail your own boat at Midland SC you must have insurance. And Noble provide excellent service. For example, claim for a bent mast went in on Tuesday, new mast was ready for collection on Thursday and all the paperwork sorted.
Good selection of wetsuits and accessories with the advantage that you can try them on in the shop.
All the info you want for and about the topper class.
With the transfer of all inland waterways from British Waterways in July 2012, the trust now owns Edgbaston Reservoir as its official purpose is to provide water for the canals.
We can be found at Edgbaston Reservoir in Birmingham city centre and cater for rowers of all ages as well as complete beginners. Beginners' sessions are held on Saturday (juniors only) and Sunday mornings at 10.30am. We share the water with Birmingham University, Birmingham Schools Rowing Association, as well as the Midland Sailing Club and TS Vernon. The club's address is: 115 Reservoir Road, Edgbaston, B16 9EE. The contact phone number is 07824 433 583.
Birmingham Canoe Club was established over 50 years ago. The club is very active and is supported by a dedicated membership who organise regular trips to various different venues in the UK and Europe. We have a number of coaches on hand to give instruction and guidance where necessary to help paddlers progress their skills.
The Canoe Club use the reservoir for training on Friday evenings during the summer through an association with Birmingham Rowing Club.
Birmingham Vernon is part of a National Organisation known as The Marine Society and Sea Cadets, however we operate a local level and are a charity within our own right.
We meet three times a week at our headquarters at Edgbaston Reservoir and only charge £1.00 each time a young person attends. The facilities are available to both boys and girls between the ages of 10 - 18 years.
The unit provides young people the opportunity to gain instruction and Nationally recognised qualifications in many areas such as sailing, canoeing, rowing, sail boarding, power boating, band, first aid, camping, football and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme but to name a few.
At Vernon we are lucky enough to be able to offer to young people the opportunity to follow either The Royal Navy or The Royal Marines with staff and training programmes for both sections.
